Since there is a lack of social awareness to express, while living, a willingness to be donors, and inspired by the pact for life made by the people from the plane crash in the Andes that allowed 16 of them to survive, return to their families and society that believed they were dead, the Alive Foundation launched on September 21, 2010 its campaign: “HAGAMOS TODOS UN PACTO POR LA VIDA” (LET US ALL MAKE A PACT FOR LIFE)
It’s a strong social awareness campaign, seeking not only to inform and educate society on the subject, but also, and as a strong goal, on a specific day of the year, to encourage each person of legal age to sign the “donation form (form A), a legal document that defines each person’s ideas on this subject.
The campaign marks a constant presence in all the media, weeks before the date selected as a workshop day for signatures, informing, educating and motivating people to attend on the day that has been selected and to sign the form, in the chain of spots that have been set for this purpose.
To this end on Saturday, November 6, 2010, the 1st NATIONAL DAY FROM THE ALIVE FOUNDATION FOR THE COLLECTION OF SIGNATURES, was held, with a mobilization throughout Uruguay of more than 400 volunteers, authorized by the INDT as “signatures collectors”, who expressed their willingness to “collect life”. In this regard, we have the valuable support from other social organizations whose heritage is to be volunteers, such as “Un Techo para mi País” /A Roof for my Country/, “Asociación de Trasplantados del Uruguay” / Association of Transplantion Patients from Uruguay/, the Red Cross, and other institutions.
An important aspect to be noted is that this campaign is different from other campaigns: it is the only campaign of a social organization, a massive campaign, with the attendance of the media, in the street, that is not a fundraising campaign, but a campaign for the “collection of life”

The involvement of the survivors of the Andes through their testimony, as well as the testimonies from the relatives of people who died in the Andes, is central to the message conveyed by the foundation.
This campaign was first held in the year 2010, and it will be implemented on an annual basis and sustainable over time. The goal is that the specific day selected for the signature of the form, will become, with the passing of each annual campaign, a key day that society will clearly identify as the day on which people express and define their willingness to be donors.
We would like to thank especially the Roemmers laboratories, which have trusted the foundation and have joined us in this campaign as our “ally” in the subject to promote the importance of expressing, while living, the willingness to be organ donors, as part of their CSR, thus beginning a path of joint alliance, that we wish will endure over time.
